[Task4] Fixed Action PatternsLearning English 2019. 9. 5. 23:31ST4-P3 : Fixed Action Patterns
The professor explains about fixed action patterns, which are animals' instinctive behaviors produced by stimuli.
She gives two specific examples of these types of behaviors.
First type is caused by perceptions such as shapes or color. This is shown in the stickleback, which is kind of fish becoming very territorial every spring.
It will attack anything nearby that is red because the red color triggers its aggressive behavior.
Another aspect of a fixed action pattern is that it continues to the end.
She gives the example of the greylag goose. If it sees one of its eggs fall out of the nest, it will try to roll the egg back in, even if the egg is taken away.
These are examples of fixed action patterns.'Learning English' 카테고리의 다른 글
